There're various type of parenting & child psychological course and theories in market, neglecting it's commercial or not, most are scientific and contemporary. But, maybe only 25% parents believe these approaches, since parents had been brought up from different family backgrounds, they had learnt parenting ways from their own parents already.

It’s a hell to accept new parenting concepts, esp. it is against own parents’ traditional way, and most parenting course reveal parents’ own wrongdoing before they can care their kids in success. This is one of the big social problems…

But, even worst, if when you have these new scientific ways, the traditional parents usually stand out and tell you’re not teaching your kids, when your kids are more energetic, talkative and more creative. These traditional parents’ criteria to their kids are discipline in front of people, be quiet and polite. They are proud of their ways to press kids’ creativity, social ability and innocence. One day, these 75% traditional parents would become experts of teaching kids, once they find a target parents who admit their kids playing creatively without discipline, they may do a demonstration of scolding kids in front of guest, it shows parents’ power, authority and dictatorship.

May we bless all kind of parents and their kids, as parents’ acts are all for kids’ goodness, but some parents may still enjoy in their wrongdoings, because they think parents are always right !

Well, just changed my blog design and top banner, seems like this more, as our feelings is happy when there’re more flowers. I feel something same as petal in the world, it spreads fragrant and coloring our lives. But, what’s it?

We may say our lives are from God, all we can learn from Bible is perfect towards right goals. But, human, ourselves, are complicated, we have different bible in hearts. This makes us happier, when we can’t follow bible’s ways. We accept ourselves and hopefully accept others. We forgive ourselves, and hopefully forgive others. We blame ourselves, and also others. We may not love ourselves, and may not love others….

Who would live as he wants and be happy? But, we accept life is not perfect, we may give up our desires and sacrifice for others. Nevertheless, we are upset when we have lost for others, indeed, this is Love - another type of fragrant from petals. And, Love will last forever in others’ hearts, finally, it turns to be the root of our happiness!

Hi Eric,
I was born in HK.
My kids are "abc"s, born in Australia.
Once there was a grandmother and a grandson at the back seat of my car, the grandmother laughed and made a joke on the grandson, the grandson answered back with another joke. The grandmother became irate and accused the grandson of being disrespectful...
" The parents are always right." , according the tradition.
" It's ridiculous ." said the grandson.

Dear Jeleez,

Thanks for your sharing, I fully understood the feelings of you and grandson. This story clearly tell us, "parents are always right" comes from parents own psychological status : "parents urge to be respected by all means". Grandson is in next and next generation, the greatest gap maybe : they have different definition of "being respected", and grandmother couldn't put herself to the same level of grandson. So, she had made a joke, but, grandson had offended her by similar joke that he definitely thought "it's ridiculous".

Indeed, there're great advancement in scientific technologies within 60 years, so traditional thoughts would be replaced gradually by the same philosophy.

Take care, Jeleez

In July 7, 07 night, I dreamed the Japanese troops invaded Hong Kong Island, my living place.

It's a sunny day, our neighbour knocked our door loudly. She's pale and panic, screamed to us : "The Japanese troops have just crossed the border, Go! Go! Go now!"

It's not time permitting to pick any belongings, we ran to the street with many other people who seemed to be refugees in movies. When I was passing through a cross-over, I saw a Japanese solider who's riding on a military horse. It's definitely a well-trained vehicle, it halted in front of an old beggar man, still there for 3 seconds. The solider shot the beggar to death without hesitation, then turned for other target.

We finally went to a place we thought it's safe, just settled for a minute, right at that moment,........... the Japanese soliders hooked out from the nearby building, and they began their hunting. I had hiden myself in the closest stair, and was shocking by the shedding of blood in assasination for 10 minutes.

Woken up by scares, I went to office after breakfast. In a taxi, I listened to the radio's news broadcasting : "This is July 7, the day of the conflict escalated the Japan-China War on July 7, 1937. Shots rang out near a bridge in a Beijing suburb, triggering the clash between Japanese and Chinese troops known as the Marco Polo Bridge Incident...."

We extract today's BBC Americas bolded news : LA Church 'agrees abuse pay deal' from page : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6899391.stm shocked us again!

Since 2002 nearly 1,000 people have filed abuse claims in California......

More than 500 people allegedly abused by Los Angeles Catholic priests are to receive a record-breaking compensation pay-out, their main lawyer says......

The deal, which a judge must approve, is reported to be worth $660m (£324m)......

Los Angeles diocese records released in the past revealed that for decades priests accused of child sex abuse were simply moved to new assignments or provided with therapy, Church leaders believing that they could be rehabilitated.

Earlier this year, Cardinal Mahoney told parishioners in an open letter that the Church would sell its 12-storey administrative building and was considering the sale of about 50 other non-essential properties to raise funds.

The abuse has also severely dented confidence in the Church and its leaders, the BBC's Peter Bowes in Los Angeles says.

"No settlement, no amount of money, can restore the shattered trust and the stolen childhoods and the betrayed faith of people who were wounded by abusive priests and by complicit bishops," David Clohessy, national director of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests said.

Since 2002 nearly 1,000 people have filed such claims against the Roman Catholic Church in California alone.

In February 2004, a report commissioned by the Church said more than 4,000 Roman Catholic priests in the US had faced sexual abuse allegations in the last 50 years.

The toleration to abuse has reached the peak, as certainly this represents a tremendous achievement by these brave survivors, who somehow found the strength to come forward, report the crimes, get legal help, expose the predators and ultimately endure a pretty long, gruelling legal process....(to be continued)

What's the purpose of these brave survivors, surely, the sole aim is not getting a financial compensation.

The Church's past and concurrent optimistic way of financial compensation by selling Catholic's property to raise fund would soon be ruin, as allegedly abuse has been emerging since 2002 without a halt. Not only ruining the trust and faith of people, consequently, the darkest hard time faced by New Catholics, they start to rethink about how would their faiths be relied on this giant religious body.

Moreover, what's the main function of their financial contribution to the Catholic Church in future? It would be a dilemma; their donations would go to education, medical services or payment to abused victims. Needless to say, before a pie-chart was drawn, we all know the latter shares the greatest % compared to the former,

This has recalled me a movie tonight, the HERO in “Incredible”, He dumped an opponent’s bomb onto a flyover accidentally, when he was saving a citizen’s life. The White House had to paid $XXX millions as a financial compensation to all injuries and damages. Sucked! It’s not a small amount, but, at least, the Governor paid it right to protect a genuine Hero in community. Back to here, the financial compensation paid for each accused case, is it truly worth in the eyes of Catholics, or, the Church wanted to cover facts, and minimize consequent turbulence in Catholic Society? Catholics are mostly silent and avoid touching this topic, not even in any gathering, also in own family. I dare to say Catholics’conservative attitude would only severely doubt all people outside Church, as accused priests’abuse has been burning in people's hearts....(to be continued)

Have the Church any own significant medicine? Rather than throwing gold sand scratched from donations. I am not going to screw Catholic Church on the floor, but I insist to have the absolute transparency of all court cases, and object the Church's attitude of disturbance to victims by legal financial compensation outside court.

From the history, accused priests were simply moved to new assignments or provided with therapy, Church leaders believing that they could be rehabilitated. But, is there any medical report, it serves that accused priests were back to track mentally after rehabilitation audited by a neutral group objectively? The group members have to be beyond the control by any Church or Roman Church, any government, and without religion in their own families. (end)

Today, I was greatly impressed by below essay written by one of my new friends, she had expressed her love and regrets to her younger brother, since she thought she's the one who had hurt him, as relatives surounding had kept comparing both of them, when her younger brother was termed as almost useless. In the content, we learn that compliment and encouragemnet is very crucial in our child's development and self-confidence building.

I am too busy to translate the Chinese content to English, so it's posted by intact, please forgive :
